I wore this once, but never again.

The tripawd world has lost one of its biggest cheerleaders with Happy Hannah’s crossing over the rainbow bridge. She was so supportive, such a friend to so many she would never meet. I hope she’s tearing it up on the other side and eating herself silly. May her dinner bowl always be full. My heart aches.

True story: Someone was watching “100,000” today, a gut-wrenching film about the satos (street dogs) of Puerto Rico. I didn’t pay any attention, even though it was filled with barking dogs and in Spanish, my native tongue. Then I heard a voice that made me sit up and bark and bark and bark. It was Gloria Marti, the president of Save A Sato, the group that saved me from the streets and had my leg amputated. I haven’t heard her voice since I left San Juan about seven years ago. Like elephants, those who have kindness extended never forget. Consider that when you have the chance to help someone out, whether they are two-, three-, or four-legged.

There’s a hint of spring at the coast today. My BFF Stella’s exhausted because she went to the beach. I stayed home, but did get to hop around outside without worrying about ice for a change. Did I mention I have now lost 6 pounds and am pretty much perfect?

I need to start planning the sato reunion I’m hosting this spring (there will be other tripawds there, too). Anyone have any good ideas for a reunion pawty? The money raised will support spay/neuter in San Juan. Is the look too much?

I was at the vet yesterday and she gave me a compliment that only people who read this can appreciate. She said my amputation “was beautifully done.” Thanks to Save A Sato and the vets who do so much work for them. Also, she was most impressed with my 5-pound weight loss! I attribute it to going g-free.

I got up this morning, then crawled under a chair because it just seemed like too much. Some Wednesdays are as bad as Mondays, especially with yet another nor’easter bearing down.

Even wearing my favorite fleece (which fits better since I have gone gluten free), I don’t want to go out into one more snowstorm. When do pitchers and catchers report? I may join them.

OMG! How can we stop this?
Stray dogs sit outside the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park course, a venue for the snowboarding and freestyle competitions of the 2014 Winter Olympics, in Sochi, Russia on Monday. A pest control company which has been killing stray dogs in Sochi for years told The Associated Press on Monday that it has a contract to exterminate more of the animals throughout the Olympics.
